What is Trail Compass?

Trail Compass is an open hiking trail directory focused on US state parks, national forests, and regional recreation areas — the everyday public lands that don't always make the cover of an NPS visitor guide. Each page is a plain server-rendered HTML document built from publicly available park and recreation data. There is no JavaScript framework, no client-side hydration, and no tracking script wedged into the critical path. The result is an extremely fast, bookmarkable, search-engine-friendly catalog.
